The Prolific Offenders projects in Staffordshire are based in Hanley Police Station, Stafford Police Station, our Melbourne House Office in Hanley and at Tamworth Police Station.
The Prolific Offenders project is a community-based initiative that targets persistent offenders, who often have drug problems and commit crime to support their habit.
After careful selection, the offenders are offered a place on the programme for between 6-12 months. The project allows them fast access to services and support from local agencies and organisations. Swift action and penalties are imposed for any non-compliance with the programme.
Offenders receive support in the form of increased contact with probation staff, drug rehabilitation and addiction counselling, help in finding somewhere to live, careers advice and training and help in changing behaviour to live crime free lives.
