Staffordshire Probation Area strives to provide a consistent end to end offender management process, ensuring wherever possible that an offender has the same manager for the entirety of their sentence. This helps the offender to be rehabilitated and which supports public protection.

Offender Management involves assessing offenders and their risk, planning the supervision (both in the community and in custody), and ensuring that suitable interventions are received by the offender.

An offender management team consists of an offender manager, offender supervisor, key workers and case administrators.

Prison sentences are not often the right choice and in many cases community sentences can provide better results.
